Liam Crowe
In 2001 Crowe took a summer job in a small electronics factory and found himself intrigued by the internal design of the equipment they were making. This experience influenced his architecture-inspired practice.
Crowe produced a large body of hybrid architectural drawings, plans and models reworked from trouble-shooting manuals, circuitry templates and diagrams. Following a residency at the Mauna Kea Observatory, Hawaii he embarked on a series of works exploring the architectural features of space vehicles until the accident in 2012 which has left him drifting in and out of a coma. The image above is 'The House of Lost Marbles' one of the models he has made during occupational therapy when he is enjoying a relatively rare period of wakefulness.
